In 2006, Chiesi celebrated its 30th anniversary in Brazil. Over the years we have seen many changes in our country as well as in our company. We have been following those new challenges by adapting ourselves and innovating our procedures.
In 2006 the subsidiary achieved a growth of 28.3% in Euro sales. Part of them came from the exchange rate gain but an important growth of 14.9% was reached in local currency. Three main products in the respiratory and cardiovascular areas achieved double digit growth in units. Hipertil®, our calcium channel blocker combined with an ACE Inhibitor was launched very successfully at the end of the year.
Another important milestone was the decision of the Group to place a new MDI line of production in Brazil. This new equipment will initiate our export activities to important countries as well as give us more flexibility to support the increasing demand from the local market. |
