Chiesi S.A. - France
Chiesi S.A. sales reached 88 million Euro, comparable to 2005 in a French pharmaceutical market heavily affected by economical constraints. In that context and in particular in the second part of the year, Chiesi France increased its competitiveness due to a high focus put on sales force efficiency and improved expertise in its different teams.
On the retail market, the growth of Iperten® and performance of the key promoted products Cetornan® and Divarius ® supported the affiliate results and compensated for a decline in non-promoted and historical products.
At the end of the year Chiesi’s growth and presence in the respiratory area was boosted because of Formoair® (formoterol HFA) and Beclospin® (beclometasone nebulization) launches.
The hospital line has once again developed good results with 5% of growth due to Curosurf®’s outstanding performance (+9.3% in SU). All of the French affiliate teams are committed to building a strong franchise in the respiratory area and the preparation for the Foster® launch will, without doubt, be the key project in 2007. Chiesi’s French industrial operations will be reinforced by an extension of the plant in order to ensure direct istribution of current and expected products.
