Since 1996 Chiesi developed its business in Russia through a partnership with the French company Prespharm. Chiesi’s product sales grew rapidly and the effective respiratory pipeline created the opportunity to establish Chiesi’s direct presence.
The local Pharma market is growing rapidly (+26% vs. 2005). Building on its former activity Chiesi’s local operations started at the beginning of 2006. First year results were 10% over budget with sales of 3.4 million Euro and 47% growth in sales to pharmacies.
The cardiovascular pipeline and the launch of Foster® could be an important opportunity for the further development of the Russian affiliate.
