Infomation & Communication Technology
Corporate Information & Communication Technology mainly focused its 2006 activities on three areas: business support, technological evolution, and culture of methodology in the implementation of its projects.
CICT provided a high level of business support for its internal partners and external suppliers, providing the former with innovative and cost – effective business solutions, and the latter with an ethical and transparent commercial relationship. A number of integrated systems (see table below) were developed in 2006 and, at the same time, the Chiesi IT infrastructures model was further developed and delivered in existing and new affiliates proceeding with the ongoing standardisation process. Governance procedures as well have been improved and formalised in the so called “Governance Book”, a set of rules and tools aimed at creating an information systems context coherent with the business needs.

2007 perspectives
CICT will keep supporting the business with projects and initiatives to meet still unmet requirements. The introduction of new technological solutions in the Industrial Operations Department will contribute to redesign business processes in order to increase the manufacturing operations efficiency (Manufacturing Execution System, Electronic Document Management System).
The ICT R&D area is reorganizing the Demand and Support management through a structured and standardized
methodological approach. In the meantime a deep effort is addressed to consolidate the existing systems
and to carry out some feasibility studies for future implementations (Web content mining, Knowledge Management for Discovery).

- HR Evolution Project to implement a system supporting the HR budget process and the performance evaluation process

- Monitoring systems
- Help desk management systems
- Feasibility study for the new telephone system (voice over IP technology)
- Implementation of the standard infrastructure in the Netherlands and Turkey
