Research & Development

During 2006, Chiesi’s research and development continued to focus on respiratory pathologies, proceeding with the development of new drugs and combinations and advancing our proprietary technological platforms.
Furthermore, 2006 saw the appearance in the pipeline of new classes of compounds resulting from Chiesi’s primary research.

Total investments in R&D activities reached 77 million Euro (13% of the Group’s revenues) including 2.6 million Euro in R&D capital expenditures. Chiesi has research centres, located in Parma, Paris and Rockville, Maryland (USA) with more than 300 people involved in R&D activities.
